What is TBRI® and who can use it?
TBRI® is an attachment-based, trauma-informed intervention that is designed to meet the complex needs of vulnerable children. TBRI® uses Empowering Principles to address physical needs, Connecting Principles for attachment needs, and Correcting Principles to disarm fear-based behaviors. While the intervention is based on years of attachment, sensory processing, and neuroscience research, the heartbeat of TBRI® is connection. Parents, teachers, caregivers, or anyone working closely with children who have been affected by adversity, early harm, toxic stress, or trauma can benefit from TBRI®.
What is Managing Challenging Behaviors and Who Can Use it?
Managing Challenging Behaviors is a useful resource for prospective or current caregivers (biological, foster, kinship, adoptive, and guardianship) or anyone who is or will be working with or raising children from foster care who have moderate to severe emotional and behavioral challenges due to past trauma.
Caregivers need multiple exposures to training about trauma to help them understand the reasons behind behaviors and be provided with skills and tools to effectively manage these behaviors.
What is TBRI® Connection Circle and Who Can Use It?
TBRI® Connection Circle is a group where children and their caregivers come together to build
trust, strengthen bonds, and create secure attachments. Through play, patience, and purpose-driven
activities, we empower youth and gently guide them toward positive behavior and healing.
We offer age-specific groups to ensure meaningful connection and growth—see the breakdown.
Connection Cubs: ages 2-6 years old
Connection Crew: ages 7-11 years old
Connection Club: ages 11-18 years old
Each group welcomes up to 12 children and their caregivers to ensure a supportive, personalized
experience. A participating adult is required to stay and engage alongside their child, as the class focuses
on strengthening family connections and dynamics.

Why use trauma-informed parenting?
It is often necessary to use parenting strategies that account for the unique needs of youth with histories of adversity, early harm, toxic stress, and/or trauma. In trauma-informed parenting, parents consider the differences in the bodies, brains, behaviors, beliefs, and biographies of children who have experienced these traumas and tailor solutions accordingly.
Is in-home coaching available with this trauma informed parenting program?
Yes, NOAS offers TBRI® in-home coaching to families who have completed the TBRI® training classes. We send one of our certified TBRI® practitioners to your home to assess your needs and assist you with practicing and implementing Trust-Based Relational Intervention strategies.
If so, please register for the parenting classes below.
Don’t take our word for it…
This content is so helpful! More parents and teachers need this training. It made me think about so much that I can do with my kids.”
It was great overall and very relevant, the one area it made me realize is I have a kiddo who gets to level 4 quite often – I need to understand this level more in depth but the TBRI® training brought that to my attention.
