Malachi, Age 14

Malachi is in the 8th grade and is academically strong. He enjoys school and has recently requested more challenging work in the classroom. He likes to read, draw, and write short stories. Malachi inspires to be a Software Engineer when he grows up. His favorite food is cheesecake. He likes to play and watch basketball and football; his favorite teams are the Charlotte Hornets and the Arizona Cardinals. He is a shy young man, has a hard time with eye contact, and does not have much to say. He does not at all mean this to be disrespectful, as he will answer any questions one might have. I think, instead it is a withdrawal from all the disappointment he has endured.

Malachi is open to all types of families that can show him love and support. He has shared he would like to be an only child. Malachi feels communication is most important in a family. He likes pets and does not have a preference to cats or dogs. He would like to live in the city as this is what he is familiar with. He would do best in a home that could give him the time, reassurance, and commitment he needs to build trust again. He is a smart and courageous young man, and with the right support and encouragement, he will continue to overcome what he has gone through and look toward his promising future.
