Ryan, Age 11

Ryan is a very special and joyful child who enjoys watching cartoons and sports. He is a really big Cleveland Cavaliers fan and enjoys watching the games on TV. Ryan’s favorite pastime is being on the floor playing with his musical toys that light up. Mirrors are one of Ryan’s favorite things to look at! He can often be found moving one of his mirrors around, watching it retract the light. Even though Ryan is non-verbal, he enjoys it when you tell him jokes and talk to him as though he can verbally respond. He is genuinely a happy kid who enjoys having others around him. Ryan has a great relationship with those constant people in his life and can easily bond with those around him.

Ryan needs an experienced family who is capable of meeting his medical needs, as they are extensive but manageable. A family who has the time and patience to work with him would be best because Ryan is full of potential! With love, nurturing, and teaching, it is hopeful that he can one day progress to using different forms of communication. A family who can meet Ryan where he is would be ideal.
